Abstract

This paper presents a software framework for multimodal transport analysis based on open source components, developed in France with the support ofthe ministry of transport. It is illustrated by means of 3 applications based on open source Geographic Information System (GIS) software: Public Transport (PT)/Road network analysis, GPS tracks travel-time database, motorway traffic travel times. In the coming years, the use of standard data formats and software openness will facilitate its dissemination, comparisons among cities/regions, and incremental improvement if we manage to create a community of users and developers in France and hopefully world-wide.
