Abstract

In Holland the public transport companies were confronted last years with a relatively high increase in fares. The effects on the buspopulation (how many people changed their modal-split and why) are subject of this paper. In addition we made an estimate of the number of passengers who travel without a valid ticket (income-effects for companies). Finally some ideas about fares and exploitation are formulated.
