Door to door transport is wanted for old people and disabled people. They use different transport modes, such as public transport, taxi or taxi-busses and collective transport systems. The possibilities are strongly determined by the accessibility of the different transport systems. Transport companies do their work on the basis of the transport need and within their budgettary possibilities to provide an as good as possible accessibility. There is however no uniform policy for the safety for the users of a wheelchair. The systems for safety of wheelchair users of today are not able for use in public transport. Reduction of the number of available systems into a limited number of uniform systems is important systems is important for manufacturers aswell as users. A pilot project is recommended to specify the economic andpractical attainability of such systems in public transport.
