Abstract

Road accidents can be compared with an epidemic. In epidemiology there are three important factors: host, agent and environment. In traffic these are the road user, the vehicle and the road. The relation between these factors is very variable. An extensive documentation is required for the analysis of a particular relation. A successful treatment through Engineering, Enforcement and Education must be possible.
