Abstract

The rapid rise in population and car ownership in Kuwait, a rich developing country, has produced transport problems. Large sums of money were allocated for investment in urban infrastructure but the problems are still pressing while public transport was given little attention. This article presents an overview of the urban public transport system in Kuwait. The system characteristics, usage and operations are outlined.
