Abstract

A national survey of operating and maintenance costs for low volume roads was undertaken in 1993. The objective of the study was to obtain and analyze maintenance costs for earth, gravel and low volume paved roads in various regions across Canada. Costs were itemized for winter maintenance, surface repairs, regravelling, dust control, drainage, roadside maintenance and overhead. This paper will present these results. (A)
