Abstract

"Optical guidance", for the given purpose, can be defined as the guidance of human motion during car driving by means of optical information. There is both deliberate guidance by, for instance, signs or road markings, as well as non intentional guidance by the layout of the road environment as a whole. Guidance, may be either towards certain goal destinations, for "navigation" or "wayfinding", or for lane- keeping. Here we shall be concerned with the second issue.
