Abstract

The perspective image of a road can differ from the three-dimensional one that the designer had in mind. For the fusion of the road and landscape, simultaneous horizontal and vertical alignment is important. One has to be aware that the driver sees only the perspective image of the road, which can differ from the one that the design engineer had in mind. For this reason the three-dimensional alignment has to be checked already in the first stages of the project.
