Abstract

A model has been developed for the design of a flexible highway pavement, consisting of a mathematical function with several constraints, e.g. traffic, material, minimum layer thickness, soil, environment, quality requirement, to minimize total costs. An example of the calculation by computer in two stages is given: the first is optimalization by linear programming, the second stage performs the cost minimization.
