On the optimality of the human operator.

Abstract

A study has been conducted on the optimal properties of the human operator in low order compensatory systems. The conclusion is drawn that all subjects optimize the same cost functional when given the same control task. They perform differently, however, due to their varying abilities in processing high frequency signals.
