Utilizing the advanced radio communication technology, car navigation system has become possible to provide a recommended route based on the dynamic information gathered by vehicle detectors and image sensors which are fixed on the roadsides. Although the intersection on ordinary roads is supposed to be much influencing to traveller's cost, it has been handled as a neglecting factor in conventional route guidance studies. To take the influence of intersections into consideration precisely, a computer simulator which detects each vehicle independently based on a micro-viewpoint is constructed. Analyzing the validity of the Dynamic Route Guidance System (DRGS) under the split macro flow-responsive signal control by the simulation, it is shown that it does not always lead to a good result and it is necessary to integrate the route guidance and the signal control so that an integration of the signal control and the route guidance is validated by using a simulation model. As a result, it is reported that better results can be obtained than those of the un-integrated version.
