Abstract

The studies carried out in the laboratory to value the effect ofthe use of special binders in the manufacturing of porous mixes arecovered in this article. The results obtained from the use of polymeric bitumens and conventional binders are compared. These studies were conducted in the road laboratory of the university of cantabria and in the e.S.M. Research center. It also reflects the performance of some sections constructed with polymeric bitumens as compared to the response of porous pavements fabricated with conventional binders. This paper appears in Transportation Research Record no. 1265, Porous asphalt pavements: an international perspective 1990.
