Abstract

A computer simulation model which would be suitable for use in the design of traffic signal systems was developed to reproduce traffic under laboratory conditions. The model was used to evaluate several alternative timing plans, and indicated by a significant difference in mean delay between two of these plans which are sensitive to variations in signal timing.
