Abstract

In this paper, the familiar alignment problem is subjected to formal mathematical decision theory. An algorithm is developed that is capable of generating a sequence of feasible design statements and that terminates with an optimal design. The design algorithm is developed for rapid solution on a digital computer to produce a highly refined design statement. A list of design constraints is compiled and mathematically described in terms of the alignment design variables.
