Abstract

The problem considered is that of locating perpendicular links between two parallel traffic routes. Origins and destinations of trips are regarded as being distributed over the two routes, and the objective is to locate the links so as to minimize the mean trip length. A number of different cases are treated, in each case for general (independent or dependent) distributions of trip terminals.
