Abstract

A logical system for the prevention of injury and death from motor vehicle crashes is based on the sequence of events and the types of factor involved. By forming a matrix, a variety of options and evidence for their effectiveness can be evaluated on a cell by cell basis. In evaluating various options, especially in locations other than those in which initial data were obtained, and when cultural and behavioural variables are involved, it is important to have a wide variety of data sources.
