Abstract

The paper deals with recording and analysing of unnecessary conflicts between traffic flows and finding the methods for their elimination while designing grade-separated intersections. The unnecessary conflicts among traffic flows occur also due to inadequate designs of grade-separated intersections, and significantly affect the intersection capacity and the traffic safety. By applying methods presented in this paper, the more suitable designs are easier to select, in order to eliminate the unnecessary conflicts of the traffic flows at grade-separated intersections.
