Abstract

New Zealanders continue to die on our roads in horrendous numbers. Although population densities and geographical considerations make comparisons difficult, there is mounting evidence that a proportion of road accident deaths could be avoided by better trauma management. This paper is an overview of treatment from the time of injury to the time of definitive hospital care.
