Abstract

Traffic management in Toulouse, France is outlined. The objectives are to optimise network use, enable regional and urban social development, environment protection, and innovation in highway use and traffic management. Nine administrative organisations are involved in the project, for which a common system architecture has been developed so that consensus policies for traffic control, route guidance, etc can be implemented. The development of user information available via a range of media to regulate demand and optimise choice of route is described.
