Abstract
The relation between the presence of facilities for pedestrians and safety for crossing pedestrians in towns has been examined. It could not be proved that an increase of the number of uncontrolled crossings promotes safety for pedestrians. The installation of more controlled crossings, according to the criteria obtaining at this moment, has a positive influence.
