Abstract
A literature review is made on pedestrian crossings. The introduction of pedestrian crossings as a legal protection for the pedestrian has not led to a falling of the number of accidents with pedestrians. The measurement of all variances in the behaviour of pedestrians in traffic situation is insufficient, because correct methods are not yet available.
