Abstract

Facial injury prevention is becoming more important in car safety design. The increasing usage of restraint systems has reduced the severe head injuries and instead a less severe facial injury pattern has emerged. New test tools should sufficiently simulate the human head and facial area and include measuring techniques that can predict if and to what extent a facial injury would occur.
