Abstract
The main aim of this dissertation was to shed light on overview maintenance, which is crucial for operating in comlex man-machine environments. Inspired by studies from related field, a number of factors were examined that were hypothesised to influence overview maintenance in general man-machine settings, and the ship's bridge in particular.
