Abstract

An overview of the pedestrian accident situation in Australia is presented. It concentrates on a broad analysis of long-term (1963-1974) trends in pedestrian casualties, in relation to other road-users and various exposure measures. Research is needed for a better understanding of the Australian pedestrian accident situation, particularly in the long term.
