Abstract

Urban transport is a major issue in the new South Africa, with its extensive use of space and costly transport organisation. This paper reviews the current situation, and suggests new approaches that rely on best international practice. (A) The French title of the paper is: "Presentation du transport urbain en Afrique du Sud: de l'experience europeenne a une nouvelle approche".
