Abstract
The accessibility of urban areas stands under great pressure. Traffic policy of the Dutch government is emphasising more and more on restricting car usage growth. Public transport patronage should more than double. For the urban areas, that attract a larger part of all the trips, a great task lies ahead. The paper describes a study about the way to double public transport patronage in the region of The Hague in twenty years.
