Abstract

The Dutch National Travel Survey (NTS) is carried out annually, making available an inmense set of travel data. A database has been formed combining data from several years NTS, in order to extract specific information on trips according to the trip classification of the New Regional Model System. Through combination of these trips with a network it is technically possible to estimate (regional) distribution functions for these trip segments. Via combination of these trips with zonal socio-economic variables of an existing New Regional Model (NRM) region-specific parameters for trip generation can be estimated. More general mobility features can be extracted for users' own choice of clusters of model zones within an existing NRM. (A)
