Abstract

The proposed paper will outline briefly the objectives of one particular DRIVE (Dedicated Road Infrastructure for Vehicle Safety in Europe) project, PAMELA (Pricing And Monitoring Electronically of Automobiles), which are to specify, design, develop and demonstrate equipment to facilitate two-way data-communications between moving vehicles and a fixed roadside station for non-stop automatic debiting applications such as road-tolling, road-use pricing and car-parking. The results of the first year of work on PAMELA will be presented.
