Abstract

In april, 1962, a new type of pedestrian crossing, the Panda, was introduced. A comparison between the Panda and other pedestrian crossings is made. When vehicular flows are heavy and pedestrian flows very heavy (at peaks) or medium (off-peak) the Panda crossing causes greater delays than the Zebra crossing to both vehicles and pedestrian at both peak and off-peak hours.
