Abstract
Illegal parking is an ever-growing problem in Amsterdam's city centre. In Amsterdam, a number of streets and bridges that are part of bicycle routes are now given a carriageway 3.50 or 3.80 m wide. Bicycle and car traffic are not segregated, though there is motortraffic in one way only. Parked cars no longer form a nuisance. For cyclists the route is unobstructed and safe.
