Abstract

Two models for simulating the parking situation in the centre of Amsterdam on a weekday are described. The first method uses the results obtained by applying a traffic model, and a limited amount of data from traffic and parking surveys. The second method is based on extensive data from home interviews, roadside interviews and parking surveys. Finally the paper describes how these methods can help in assessing the effects of a parking policy for the Amsterdam city centre.
