Abstract

To explore one element in the effort to achieve some balance between uncontrolled use of the motor vehicle and maximum protection of our environment, the five papers presented here consider parking controls as a way to alter the traffic pattern. Because most vehicle trips are related to work or shopping, it is hypothesized that desired modifications in traffic patterns can be obtained through the manipulation of parking accommodations.
