Abstract

At the end of each trip by car, a parking space is needed. To help drivers to find the optimal parking space, the Telematics Section at DaimlerChrysler Research is currently investigating new mobile information services which can help to make driving more comfortable and reliable. Park & Guide - the new parking guidance system - does exactly what its name suggests: not only does it guide the driver to the desired destination, it also pinpoints the nearest car park with sufficient free capacity. To realize this system, DaimlerChrysler Research have combined public park guide systems with individual onboard navigation. For the covering abstract see ITRD E209471.
