During fixed-interval analyses of parking demand only a limited number of vehicles is observed. No conclusion can be drawn from the number of observations as regards the exact duration of parking. The influence of such discrepancies is investigated for a) the total number of parking events, b) the total duration of parking per vehicle space, c) the average duration of parking, d) the empirical distribution function of parking duration and e) the average duration of parking, d) the empirical distribution function of parking duration and e) the empirical distribution of parking time per vehicle space.
