Abstract

Partnering is a commitment between stakeholders for the purpose of achieving specific business objectives by maximizing the effectiveness of each of the stakeholders' resources. The relationship between stakeholders is based upon trust, commitment to common goals and an understanding of each other's individual expectations and values. Benefits that can be derived from partnering include improved efficiency and cost effectiveness, increased opportunity for creativity and innovation, and the continuous improvement of quality results. Properly employed, partnering will result in improved project results. This paper will look at and describe the elements of partnering. (A)
