Abstract

Results from an experimental study which provided human factors data on passenger behaviour in relation to certain aspects of vehicle design and station layout on an urban rapid transit system, are presented. The implication for passenger behaviour, and hence system performance, of choosing certain vehicle and station design features are discussed.
