Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to provide an overview of a body of research and practical applications of urban travel demand models since 1972. Two major observations are made (1) the disaggregate choice models have been developed into a flexible forecasting approach; and (2) the progress in the implementation of disaggregate travel demand models has opened many directions for further research.
