Abstract

Approximately 214,700 passenger vehicles roll over annually in crashes that are severe enough to require towing. Of these, around 7,900, or 3.7% are untripped. Untripped rollovers are those for which there is no other apparent cause than normal surface friction. Not surprisingly, most (around 7,500) of these untripped rollovers are on-road. (A)
