The airbag is stored in the front steering wheel hub and is activated by sensing devices in the front of the car; the automatic front seat safety belts are of two types. To comply with the regulation, general motors is installing 3-point, automatic, door-mountedbelts as standard equipment for both the driver and passenger side.at ford too, some 1989 models will have automatic motorized belts as standard equipment. The status of compliance with foreign manufacturers is also discussed.
