Pattern of road traffic accidents in the State of Qatar.

Abstract

The statistical figures of road traffic accidents for the years 1975 and 1976 in the state of qatar is analysed. The incidence, increase, age and sex involvement and the pattern is mentioned. The figures are disturbing and in the absence of appropriate measures the fatalities and morbidity will greatly increase. Possible contributory factors are mentioned. The incidence, severity or the pattern does not represent the other countries of the arabian gulf, although there may be well-marked similarities.
