Abstract

In 1980 a group of researchers at the Danish Council of Road Safety Research together with experts from the outside started an in- depth analysis of fatal traffic accidents involving children as pedestrians or bicyclists. Out of the 89 cases the group selected 22 for reasons of capacity and convenience. Each of these 22 accidents were thoroughly analyzed and discussed in the group. A review of the general findings are given together with four examples from the 22 case- studies.
