Abstract

Data obtained from existing hospital and police records are used to described the general pattern of injury sustained by pedestrians. It is shown that although head, leg and arm injuries are the most frequent injuries sustained the exact pattern of injury is influenced by many factors. the severity of the injuries considered in describing the pattern of injury is also shown to have an effect on the pattern of injury.
