Abstract

Results of a three-phase study are presented, of skid trailer and stopping-distance tests. It was found that the minimum predicted stopping distance skid number for the traffic and passing lanes of interstate roadways with mean traffic speeds of 65 and 70 mph should be 42 and 48 respectively (See also A 9451).
