This Transportation Research Record contains 16 papers on the subject of pavement management, pavement monitoring, and accelerated pavement testing. The papers on pavement management examine the analytic hierarchy process, return on investments, crack deterioration modeling, an enhanced management system, assessing data quality, ride quality, cash flow control, a decision-making model, and pavement condition prediction. Papers on monitoring discuss differences between the profiler and the International Roughness Index, nondestructive testing, and a pavement imaging system. The accelerated pavement testing papers apply this testing to the evaluation of dowel bar retrofit alternatives, evaluation of coarse- and fine-graded Superpave mixtures, a mechanistic recursive-incremental deterioration model, and a comparison of the efficiency of overlay materials. The 2006 series of the Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board consists of approximately 820 papers selected from 2,800 submissions after rigorous peer review. The peer review for each paper published in this volume was coordinated by the sponsoring committee acknowledged at the end of the text; members of the sponsoring committees for the papers in this volume are listed on page II. Many of these papers were presented at the 85th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 2006. (Author/publisher)
