Abstract

The Passenger Car Study (PCS) research has the aim to evaluate the effectiveness of current Canadian Motor Vehicle Specifications and to determine the need for new or revised standards. For the past three years the research effort has been a study of injury- producing collisions involving passenger cars. Injury producing collisions, including fatalities have been systematically sampled. The data set collected for each collision contains specific information on human, vehicle and environmental factors relating to these collisions.
