Peak period comfort and service evaluation of an urban freeway and an alternate surface street.

Abstract

This report concerns itself with a study of 7 variables resulting from driver reactions. The results indicate that the freeway while a better route to travel becomes equal to the surface street when both approach their capacity limits. Comfort level driving peak periods is less on a freeway than on a surface parallel street.
