The pedestrian accident situation in Australia.

Abstract

An international comparison is made of pedestrian accidents based on pedestrian fatality rate per number of vehicles registered and the level of motorization. For a group of countries with characteristics similar to Australia, a changing relationship it is suggested that recent improvements in pedestrian casualty rates in Australia are no more than might be expected on the basis of general trends.
