Abstract

Pedestrian crashes are related to the overall traffic crash situation in New South Wales, Australia, and the findings of two separate studies concerned with vehicles during the crash phase of pedestrian- involved traffic crashes are detailed. The data presented can be used to list the factors influencing the severity of trauma resulting from the crash phase and to draw inferences about modifications to the vehicle design.
