Abstract

Marked crosswalks have been assumed to prevent accidents to the users. Using data covering a 5 year period for the simple situation of accidents at marked and unmarked crosswalks, the unmarked was found superior. This may he due to the pedestrian's attitude and lack of caution when using the marked crosswalks.
