Pedestrian facilities : the situation in Australia.

Abstract

A range of facilities are used within Australia to improve pedestrian safety on roads by reducing uncontrolled conflicts with motor vehicles. This paper reviews these devices in terms of the traffic management guidelines for selection and installation at any particular location and the number currently in use throughout Australia.
